The Travel Team at Simpson Millar is currently receiving more reports of problems with Food Poisoning at Red Sea Resorts, having successfully won compensation for a group of holidaymakers who suffered illness at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay in Egypt.
Paul Stevens, Group Holiday Illness Claims Manager at Simpson Millar, said Thomas Cook's "prompt" offer to pay compensation to tourists with suspected Food Poisoning contracted at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay "can be seen as an acknowledgement that their customers should not have experienced illness in the first place".

The holidaymakers staying at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay experienced symptoms that included sickness and diarrhoea and general stomach upsets.
However, more reports of Salmonella-type illnesses and Food Poisoning are emerging from other Red Sea resorts and hotels in Egypt, including cases of illness at the Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park in Sharm El Sheikh.
Holidaymakers are using the travel site Tripadvisor to log reports that the food at the resort was "only just edible" and to record instances of illness experienced while they were staying at the Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park. Some holidaymakers are already contacting Simpson Millar for advice on making a claim for illness suffered while on holiday in Egypt.
Paul Stevens said:
"If there is food poisoning or swimming pool illness at the Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park, customers can expect to receive substantial compensation.
"Food poisoning on holiday can easily be prevented by tour operators and hotel managers by taking simple measures to prevent holiday food poisoning."
"Sensible hygiene procedures such as regular hand washing can prevent food poisoning on holiday caused by dangerous bugs including Salmonella, Cryptosporidium and Shigella."
A holidaymaker who stayed at the Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park at the end of May 2011 has reported that he needed to visit his GP four times on returning home because of food poisoning symptoms.
Paul Stevens advised holidaymakers suffering from illness while on holiday in Egypt to gather any evidence about the conditions at their hotel if they are ill, with a view to claiming compensation.
"Holidaymakers should visit their GP once they return to the UK, and ask for a stool sample to be sent away for analysis," advises Mr Stevens.
"If the test is positive for holiday bugs including Campylobacter, E. Coli, this can significantly enhance the prospects of a successful holiday compensation claim," said Mr Stevens.
He added that holidaymakers should seek legal advice even if their tour operator has offered them compensation.
"I would urge anyone that thinks their holiday at the Sunrise Royal Makadi Bay or Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park was ruined by Food Poisoning, to contact Simpson Millar as soon as possible," he said.
